Where's the plug?

A sign of a society in its death throes - division.  The lines along which it is drawn are irrelevant.

What you will see at first, for a decade or two, is a slow rolling away of accepted norms.  There will be resistance, of course, but just as Mr. Jefferson said, the body of people will put up with most anything to preserve the good they have known.

But the forces behind the perversion will not employ any self-imposed limits.  They will ridicule those who resist the change, all the while ignoring the damage their philosophy brings, and will smear and intimidate those who continue to speak out.  I saw this happen beginning in the 60s.  I was one of its promoters.

All the while, these perverters will be drawn to the three primary elements that drive a society - government, education, and entertainment.

In three or four generations, they will have created a system that allows absurdly small numbers of people to exercise an influence far beyond their numbers.  Hence we have blacks, at 13% of the population, and homosexuals, at roughly 2%, controlling the language and business practices of over 318,000,000 people.

Near the end, the hockey stick curve will be evident, with what can only be described as mass hysteria becoming common place.  Beliefs that make as much sense as a four-sided triangle will become common, and those who dare to point out that only an idiot would believe that a triangle can have four sides will be hounded, attacked, have their lives destroyed, and held up as whatever-a-phobes.  In the meantime, the attackers will be guilty of EXACTLY the same thing.  Witness the puerile outrage of deviants who pilloried bakers who didn't want to make cakes for those who believed differently about marriage while completely blacking out any coverage of a gay New Mexico hairdresser who wouldn't cut the governor's hair anymore because she believed differently about marriage.  When you see such mentally-retarded, shrieking hypocrisy, you are seeing evidence of a society that has begun to circle the drain.  In spite of the fact that, in a properly ordered society, anyone displaying this degree of mentally arrested development would be ignored as nitwits, they are instead put on television and paid high salaries. There, they will spout outlooks comparable to saying that fever causes the flu, and the way to treat it is to change the markings on the thermometer.  They are exactly that stupid.

A candidate says something in the moment that is impolitic, such as Mr. Trump a few days ago, and the media selectively edits it.  The smears begin immediately with virtually no one watching the actual interview to see what he really said in the way he said it.  He will never be allowed to deal with it in a more thoughtful moment.  Has this been seen before?  Certainly - when Barack Obama, or whatever his name is, said, "You didn't build that."  Being an absolutely and thoroughly inept extemporaneous speaker, Mr. Obama was making a Captain Obvious point, but because he wasn't on teleprompter, he got ahead of himself and poorly expressed that point, a point which in and of itself was common knowledge and harmless.  Conservatives STILL haven't let that one go.

Irrelevant and inanimate objects will become living, breathing monsters that, along with their owners, must be destroyed in verbal if not physical riots, lest somebody show evidence that they are thinking something that someone else thinks they should not be thinking.  The recent mind-boggling stupidity over a flag no normal person has paid any attention to for the last 150 years suddenly became the animate symbol of every sin that had ever been committed since the Garden of Eden.  Utterly lost and completely unexpressed anywhere in the fray was the simple truth that a flag represents absolutely nothing except a group of people in some association.  What is still being ridiculously referred to as the Confederate flag has now, due to the idiotic hysterics of those who care absolutely nothing about what they claim to be outraged about, gone from being a harmless anachronism to the Sum of All Evils.

We, as a society, have apparently lost the ability to look at someone and think, “What a moron,” and walk away to quietly take care of our own business, while real issues of treason and treachery at the highest levels of government and business roll along unhindered.

Cities will actually brag about how criminals are welcome.  They will force ordinary, working, largely law-abiding citizens with the threat of property seizure, jail, or even death to give up part of their property to support the conversion of the city into a giant prison in which the innocent are sentenced to live with the criminals.  And they will be proud to do so.  The deviant mayor and city managers of San Francisco, in their criminally insane insistence of breaking just laws both state and federal, are directly responsible for the murder of an innocent woman.  What is that small group that runs the show doing?  They are spending their time in pathetic histrionics complaining about what some guy with an absurd haircut says instead of insisting that the people responsible for the insane policies that led to the death of this innocent woman be put on trial for her death and executed with all possible speed, along with the gunman.  That is what should happen, but it won’t.
The objective and current result of all this, along with the stupid importation of a foreign language into everyday life, is division.  The plan is working perfectly.

Something new was added this time - social media.  Now, everyone has a pulpit, but a pulpit of a different kind – one that is hidden behind the walls of cyberspace, where no one can break your nose for mouthing off.  The stuff you read in the comments sections of anything published is like a war zone.

I suppose it’s possible this could turn out to be a good thing, but I have doubts.  It's obvious the government can't control information as well as it used to.  As a result, it has turned to storing it on a massive scale to be used against those who have sinned in some way, which would be everybody.

Paint it pretty, put on your rose-colored glasses, enjoy the fortune you have been blessed with for now.  But at least have the decency to be heartbroken for your children and grandchildren.  It might make the looks you get at The Judgment a little less devastating.
